Summary
Grain crops and processing.
Oats were grown in rigs every other year. Barley was grown in rigs in the contributor's youth. He can remember a quern being used. Corn was hardened in a pot above the fire. The quern was worked by men in pairs. Information on winnowing and flailing. The contributor has seen flail used. Corn was cut with a sickle. Chaff was not used. He has heard of càbhraich being made, but doesn't remember seeing it.
