Summary
The bard is sad and dejected because of the news which he has received from Appin that the tacksman of Glenure has been killed. The song contains much praise for Colin Campbell of Glenure, particularly for his personal qualities.
Item Notes
Colin Campbell of Glenure was shot and killed on 14th May 1752. James Stewart (Seumas a' Ghlinne) was wrongfully convicted for the murder and hanged on 8th November 1752.
