Summary
Waulking in Alligin.
Tweeds and blankets were made. This stopped before the First World War. They sang songs and had whisky at the waulking. Eight or nine women would be round the board. Men were allowed in when the waulking was finished and there was sometimes a dance after.
Fragments of two waulking songs; the contributor recites one verse from each. In the songs, a lover regrets that he cannot be with his sweetheart.
