Summary

Displacement of population from Glenlyon.

MacArthur, a shepherd living at Cuildochart on the Ardeonaig road on Loch Tay-side, in his 70s [in 1964], is a Gaelic speaker. He was originally from the head of Glenlyon, at Cashlie. He and his father were shepherds for a family that had land in Glen Lochay and Glenlyon, and latterly had Acharn farm on Loch Tay-side. Anne Ross wanted to interview this man because most of the people who had originally lived at the head of Glenlyon had been displaced by the building of the dam. The shepherds now had to get to the head of the loch by boat because the road had been submerged.
