Summary

The Clearances on Loch Tay-side were as bad as those in Sutherland; many ruined crofts still to be seen.

There are [1964] at least twenty ruined crofts to the east of Milton Morenish, and many on the road to Ardeonaig. The Clearances on Loch Tay-side were as bad as those in Sutherland. People were driven out over Glen Ogle. Many went to cities, some to the U.S.A. and Canada. Before that Loch Tay-side had been a populous area. The census of 1801 listed a population of 5,000 for only part of the area.
