Summary
A young shepherdess is sleeping when a young sailor kisses her. She wakes and starts to cry. He says he is seeking comfort and offers her gold; he says he will leave the sea for her. She says he cannot have her because she would be afraid when he was away, but they do marry.
Elsie Morrison learned the song from her father.
