Summary
A woman was rescued from a cliff prison by her lover.
The pretty young daughter of a landowner was imprisoned on the Maiden Stack that lies off the coast at Nesting. When she renounced her beloved, she would be allowed to come home. The young man found where she was and climbed the precipice at dead of night. He lowered the girl to his boat and then climbed down. He took her away and married her. He left the rope to show he had taken her. It lasted a year and a half before being washed away.
