Summary
The king, the bad step-mother and the kitten.
A certain king had three daughters. He re-married and his new wife resented her step-daughters. She had one sent to a deserted island for a year. She was given a little food and, whilst alone on the island, she shared this with a kitten. The kitten was so thankful that it brought her food for the rest of the year. She returned home more beautiful than ever, with the result that the queen sent her own daughter to make her beautiful. However, she did not share her food with the kitten and, when they returned after the year, there was nothing left of her but bones.
