Summary

The two companions and the robbers.

There were two poor companions and one tricked the other into swapping a sack of wool for a sack of nuts and 2 pennies. When the man who had been tricked realised that there was no wool in the bag, he went to get his money back. His friend pretended to be dead but the first man said he would stay and go with the body to the church. A group of robbers came in to the church to divide their loot. One was offered a sword and went to test it on the 'body', but the 'dead man' jumped up and the robbers fled. Two of them returned to the church, but saw the dead man arguing with his friend. The robbers fled again and the two friends shared the spoils between them.
