Summary
This song tells of 100 able young sailors on their way to New Barbary. After a few days, most of the crew become terribly tired and the composer says that their numbers are reduced to 63. In the song, someone approaches the captain and tells him that he must get ready to leave. The captain is afraid because of his terrible sins and admits to being a murderer. He was thrown overboard and the sea became calm.
