Murdoch Brown of Mannel was drowned in 1867.
The contributor explains that the drowning of Murdoch Brown in 1867 was not an accident. He ran the boat for the light-keepers who attended to the Skerryvore Lighthouse. After a fight, he was thrown overboard by a light-keeper by the name of Tait. Tait was never seen after the incident.
