Summary
In this love song, the composer tells of a dream in which he saw a swan swimming in the sea. It was facing the land. The composer and the girl he loved had parted. He describes his sadness as he pulls on the ropes of his ship in stormy weather, as he desires to be with the girl. She beguiled him when he was young and foolish, but has been enticed away from him. The composer will not pass judgement on her, however.
