Summary
Appreciation of a poem by Flora Garry; anecdote about her father.
Charles Reid talks about his pleasure in the poetry of Flora Garry, in particular 'Teuchits'. He talks about lapwings, imitates their cry and quotes a line of Garry's poem. He gives some information about her parents, from Auchmunziel (pronounced Achmingle). Her father wrote in the 'Press and Journal' as 'The Buchan Fairmer'. Mr Reid quotes a remark of his own father's to the effect that the Buchan Fairmer wrote well but his cornyard was roch [unkempt].
