This is a fragment from a waulking song. In the lines sung, a woman is sitting on a knoll telling of her sadness as her lover passed her the previous day, on a lightly-stepping horse, and did not acknowledge her. In the version of the text sung here, the composer says she cannot see the Sound of Mull.
