Summary
Easter customs in Stirlingshire.
For Easter, hens' eggs were decorated with candle wax and dyed with tea. Martha McAllister recalls rolling eggs as a child. Both the McAllisters received chocolate eggs. The baker's van brought hot cross buns on Good Friday. Shrove Tuesday was not celebrated. The baking of pancakes, scones and oatcakes was an everyday occurrence.
Item Notes
The candle wax patterns showed because they resisted the dye.
