Summary
John gives an account of his experiences in the Second War.
John says that he was with the BEF in France, with the Cameron Highlanders. They were in trenches, fighting the Germans. They were at the Somme, and the fighting was hard. They attacked the enemy but lost a good many men. Some were wounded and John looked after them. He returned to the battle and ended up at Dieppe. They were then sent to St Valery. The Germans came round them and they were captured. They had to walk to Germany.
