An account of the route taken by cattle drovers from Islay to Falkirk and ferries to Jura.
The contributor recounts the route taken by drovers from Islay on their way through Jura to the Falkirk Tryst to sell cattle. Nowadays [1970] cattle from Jura are taken to the sales at Oban. A special boat is laid on to take them over. At one time there were plans to create an overland route through Jura to the mainland. However, the costs to upgrade the roads in Jura and on the mainland were prohibitive. The contributor discusses the ferry service in Jura.
