Summary
The people of Mingulay would cut peats.
On Mingulay, people would start cutting the peats in May. The work would go on all summer. They did not use coal, since they had plenty of peats. They used a spade to do the peat-cutting. They would take the peats home in sacks or in panniers on the backs of horses.
