Summary
Preserving and curing skate.
Some years the fishing was poor and there was no demand for skate. The contributor tells in detail how they preserved/cured the skate by hanging it on the walls for a long period. He also tells how they prepared and cooked the skate. In some areas they buried the skate for a while before eating it instead of hanging it. The smaller skate (sòrnan) was eaten fresh.
