Summary
Carding nights ended in dancing; dances in the kitchen.
Girls went to carding nights, where wool was dressed. Later on the boys would turn up and they finished the evening with dancing. Weddings were held at home, a few in Lerwick, and dancing took place in the barn.
Barbara Graham's family danced in their kitchen. Their dances were popular, as boys knew they would get a dance with the four sisters. There was never a large company, perhaps 20 or 30. Her brother was the fiddler.
