Summary
Information about herding and fencing in Berneray.
The contributor tells how a herd looked after the cattle before the war, when there were no fences in Berneray. The boys would help the milkmaids carry the milk home. Sheep were sent to the outlying islands. The boys looked after the lambs. The contributor did this one year. Pit-props came ashore during the war and were used for fencing. After that they got fencing from the government.
