Summary
How piping ceased in Uist.
An account of how piping went out of existence in Uist. The contributor says that the chief of Clanranald did not hold piping in high regard. He died in 1800, by which time piping had gone out of fashion in South Uist. The Disruption also had an impact, although there were many ministers who felt that they could not disapprove of it. The revival began in North Uist.
