Chrissie Lawson relates some of the history of the native peoples and the Gaels in Canada in the 19th century. She tells of the tension and the trouble which arose between people from Lewis and native peoples in Bruce Country, Ontario, in the middle of the 19th century, and the agreement which emerged in Cape Breton between people from Barra and the native people. She also tells of the settlements and treaties which were made between native peoples and the white people and how gradually the amount of land which belonged to the native peoples became less and less.
