Summary
Rolling eggs at Easter, on Saturday or Sunday depending on denomination.
As a child, Charles Simpson rolled a hard-boiled egg on Easter Sunday. It was usually dyed with tea and decorated. Groups of friends did this together. Mrs Simpson, whose family went to the United Free Church, rolled her egg, often dyed red, on the Saturday. Neither Easter Sunday nor Good Friday were regarded as special religious days.
