Summary - Fetlar women worked so hard carrying baskets that the skin was scraped off their backs.

Jeemsie Laurenson tells of his sisters and mother being worked so hard that their backs were skinned carrying keshies [woven baskets]. They needed grass pads on their backs to enable them to continue working. When they were finished the job they were delighted, apart from the younger sister who was crying with pain from her skinned back.
