Summary
Gaun Tait caught a bear for the King of Norway and his life was spared.
Gaun Tait killed the the Norwegian king's tax collector. Tait was taken before the king, who was impressed by his strength and offered to spare him if he could catch a dangerous bear.
Tait overpowered the bear and tied it up before presenting it to the king. He took the bear back to Shetland, where it starved to death on Linga off Yell. A circle supposedly made by the bear marching around could still be seen in Tom Tulloch's time.
