Summary
The school on Vatersay; Gaelic spoken at home.
When Morag Fisher was a child the school on Vatersay had two classes, taught by Mr and Mrs Campbell. There was sewing, knitting and cookery as well as the usual lessons. There was no Gaelic at school. Mrs Campbell was from Ireland and was not a Gaelic speaker. Morag's family spoke only Gaelic at home. Her sister Mary, with whom she still speaks in Gaelic, was also literate in Gaelic.
