The bard, Roderick MacLeod, was from Stocainis in the Bays of Harris. He was a very sharp and witty man and was nicknamed 'Ruairidh Cunnartach' and 'Harris' by Lewis sailors who sailed with him. He was also known as Bàrd Chaolas Stocainis in Harris.
