Summary
This song describes how the emigrants left on the 'Marloch' in 1923 on their journey to a new life in Canada. It tells of the sadness of those who were leaving and those who were left behind. They knew they would probably never meet again in this life. The song also refers to Fr John MacMillan who travelled with the emigrants. He later returned to Scotland.
