Ta Clerk in ta Ofish

Title - Ta Clerk in ta Ofish
Contributors - Willie Mathieson
Reporters - Hamish Henderson

Summary - This song tells of lovely Rosie who is captivated by the clerk in the office, a fine young man whose father was piper to Lord John, Duke of Lorne. Auchtermuchty, Ecclefechan and Milngavie feature in the chorus.

Hamish Henderson says no Highlandman would take offence but Willie Mathieson is not so sure. He learned the song from Annie Massie at Ellon when he was fifteen.
