Summary - Spring water was the key to long life for Gossabrough folk.

Uniquely on Yell, Gossabrough was a great place for centenarians, owing to the crystal clear spring water that came up through the links. In the past 100 years eleven individuals from Gossabrough lived to over 100, with the last one to die being Girsie Petrie, who died in Basta aged 103 and 11 months. Brucie Henderson asks one of the listeners, a local nurse, if she had ever attended Girsie Petrie.
