Summary - The contributor tells that she and Nandag MacLeod began to collect songs in 1920s, before the School of Scottish Studies started doing so officially. She tells of two waulking songs she heard from a Miss Christina MacLeod, who was a teacher in the Nicolson Institute. Christina's brother, Mr Norman MacLeod, was headmaster of Madras College in St Andrews.

The contributor sings a waulking song in which a girl tells that she is the sweetheart of a sailor.
