Summary - The singer is going down the Overgate when he meets a lovely girl called Jemima, who lodges with a Mrs Bruce in the Beefcan Close in Blaeberry Lane. She invites him to her lodgings but as the winding stairs are dark he takes his money from his inside pooch [pocket] and puts it in the tail of his sark [vest]. They go to her room and pull out a bottle. He dreams he is lying in her arms but wakes up lying at the foot of the Beefcan Close. He warns young men to tie their money to the tail of their vest.
