Summary - Dancing classes and solo dancing in Braemar.

When John Lamont was young there were weekly dancing classes in winter taught by Mr David Rose, who also taught dancing at Balmoral and was MC at dances there. At the classes they danced country dances such as the eightsome reel, Lancers and Valeta waltz. John's eldest brother did solo dancing and won prizes at the Braemar Gathering. He danced Seann Triubhas, the Sailor's Hornpipe, the Highland Fling and the sword dance, but now Flora MacDonald's Fancy has been introduced by Bobby Watson, who teaches in Aberdeen.
