Summary
In this song, the bardesss Mary MacPherson tells of her desire to return to Skye, which she left over forty years ago, when she had to go to the mainland. She goes on to speak of the Clearances and the suffering of the dispossessed, and tells of her hope that one day their cattle may be in the cattlefolds, and the English will be driven out of Skye.
