A fragment from the opening of the local convivial song 'Glen Breakerie' in which a man is given a warm welcome at Ormsary Farm in that glen.
Item Notes
1 verse of 4 lines with vocable refrain of 1 line. There is a full version by James McShannon, brother of Alec MacShannon, on tape SA1956.172. Ormsary is a farm in Glen Breackerie (modern spelling), which is in Southend parish, at the southern tip of Kintyre. Willie Mitchell also wrote a poem by the same name, unrelated to the song.
