Biography

George Inglis Fraser, known as Geordie Fraser, was born in Gowanhill, Rathen in the Fraserburgh area in 1889. He went to a school near Auchnagatt until the age of 13 when he got a job as a gardener at Brucklay Castle. He then got a forestry job and took a lease on a farm near Auchnagatt in Buchan. After leaving the farm he got work with the Forestry Commission before taking up a post at the Toolworks in Fraserburgh. He retired from there in 1954. Geordie started singing at the age of fourteen and his love of songs is evident in his recordings on our website. There are 88 track in total, almost all of which are songs.
