Biography

1893-1965
Born in Elvanfoot, Crawford. He was a shepherd at Crookedstone Farm, Elvanfoot before joining the Scots Guard in World War 1, then the Edinburgh Police Force. On retiring, he took up farming at Hutlerburn in Ettrick.
