Summary

In this song the young lads of the village of Glendale are warned against the dangers of life at sea. The composer also tells them of exotic locations and the things they might see there, but advises them to avoid women as they only create trouble.

He tells that he has gone through many trials and tribulations in every corner of the world. If he had half the money which he spent on drink, he could spend the rest of his life contentedly in Pollosgan.
