Summary
A member of the Willock family mastered a kelpie and used it as a farm horse.
A member of the Willock family who lived near Grantown was said to have met a kelpie that lived in what was supposed to be a bottomless slough. One night, emboldened by drink, Willock grasped the kelpie by the bridle and mastered it. He took it home and used it as a work-horse on the farm for years. After he died the bridle was thrown away and the kelpie immediately gave a screech and disappeared.
