Summary
Funeral customs in Jura.
Whisky is still [1968] drunk at funerals. In the contributor's youth, they had a drink in the house before the funeral left. Now, people are given a dram, biscuits and cheese at the graveside. The grave is dug before the procession arrives. They always entered the cemetery from the side of the sun. The contributor has not heard of fighting at funerals.
