Summary
A man's love song to his sweetheart, who is in Islay and whom he has loved since her youth. He cannot sleep at night for thinking of her, far away from him. He sings of her beauty and kind nature and vows that he will never forsake her. He has journeyed around Scotland, from the Clyde to the Spey, but the likes of his sweetheart he has not seen.
