Eighty years after her death, a monument was erected to the memory of Mary MacDonald, the Ross of Mull poet who composed 'Child in the Manger'. Her maiden name was MacDougall. She married Neil MacDonald. Her brother was the first Baptist minister in Tiree. The MacDougalls are known as MacLucas in Tiree. There was a MacDougall in Bunessan who was referred to as MacLucas.
