Summary
The ghost of a raped and murdered schoolgirl was always seen at the same time of night.
Jean Stewart's uncle, a bachelor who had fought in two wars and was frightened of nothing, had missed his train home. He was making for a friend's house at about midnight on a moonlit night. Crossing a bridge he looked round and saw a schoolgirl. He asked her what she was doing out at that time of night, but got no reply, though she followed him for a while. When he got to the house his friend told him that the ghost of a girl was always seen at that time of night. She had been raped and murdered.
