Summary
Jean Stewart had no warning of her mother's death, but her mother's ghost appeared to her.
Jean Stewart had warning of the deaths of her brothers, sister and father, but not of the death of her mother. However, the night after her mother was buried her spirit appeared to Jean as she lay in bed with her sister Lucy. The ghost was of Jean's mother as a young woman. The ghost repeated a warning to Jean not to sell an old accordion that was the only source of replacement reeds for Jean's accordion. Just before her mother's death Jean, against her mother's advice, had sold the accordion. At the appearance of the ghost, Jean screamed. This was the only time her mother's ghost appeared.
