Summary

The Big Captain and the horse.

The Big Captain frequently went to Londonderry in Ireland. On one occasion, a horse being brought from Ireland went overboard in rough seas. It was rescued by the contributor's great-grandfather and fellow crewmen. He was called Donald Ferguson. This meant that the horse now belonged to Ferguson, and he sold it back to the captain for two gallons of whisky.
