Summary
The gaugers frightened by hares.
A gauger from Melvaig called Big Willie was on his way to meet some other gaugers when he noticed three hares following him. He took fright, but soon saw that they were being chased by a fox. When he approached his fellow gaugers, they ran away when they saw the hares. Subsequently, the lads who were making whisky for the New Year were left in peace.
