Summary
The dog that came aboard a Russian ship.
A man by the name of Iain Mòr Ailidh was sailing in Russia when an ugly brute of a dog came on board. Some of the sailors tried to be kind to it, only to be barked and snarled at. Iain, therefore, spoke harshly to it, and was greeted by playful licking. Thus, he decided that this was the way the Russians spoke.
