Summary
The heel of a loaf preferable to the farmer's wife.
A stallion driver was put up at a farm for the night. He was given a cup of tea, but nothing to eat with it; the baker hadn't come that day. There was only one bed, but the farmer and his wife shared it with him. The stallion broke loose in the night and the farmer went to see to it, leaving the other two alone together. "Now for it," said the wife. The stallion driver leapt out of bed and made for the cupboard to get the heel of the loaf.
